Billy F. Grindstaff, 82, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at his home.
Born Aug. 10, 1942 in East Alton, he was a son of Everett and Ruby (Gilliland) Grindstaff.
He married Patricia A. “Pat” Carlisle Feb. 8, 1964 in Cottage Hills. She passed away Jan. 11, 2017.
Bill worked for Olin Corp. as a machine operator. He enjoyed playing golf, doing yardwork, and tinkering in his garage. His favorite activity was any time spent with his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa (Kevin) Torrez of Alton and Michelle (Kevin) Jones of Kansas City, MO; his son, Marty Grindstaff of Wood River; his grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) Nevlin, Cody Odom, Katie Grindstaff, Kayson Jones and Cooper Jones; and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Mia and Maverick Nevlin, Zeldris and Atreus Odom, and Aaron Halpin.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Grindstaff; a sister, Jerry Grindstaff; and his brother, Delmar Grindstaff.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 31 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
