Billie Joe Galliher, 76, died at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born April 2, 1936 in Marion, IL, he was the son Wilson and Lillian Galliher. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as a rigger from Laclede Steel after 31 years of service. He enjoyed gardening. Surviving are six children, Mike Galliher of Alton, Mark Galliher of Alton, Diane Gizendorf of Baytown, TX, Vance Schollmeyer of Jersey County, Curtis Schollmeyer of Delhi, and Tonya Schollmeyer of Brighton, 17 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Kinsey and Corean Galliher, and two sisters, Peggy of Marion, IL, and Marilyn Turner of Marion, IL. He was preceded in death by a son, James Earl Galliher, a grandson, Brandon Curtis Schollmeyer, and a sister, Freda.
