Bette Givens

Bette Anne Givens, nee Turton, 93, of Belleville, IL, born July 8, 1931 in Collinsville, IL, passed away on June 22, 2025 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

Mrs. Givens was employed at Scott AFB, IL for 32 years. Her last position was that of Computer Systems program manager for Automated Information Systems Migration.

She graduated from McKendree College in Lebanon, IL, received a Master of Science Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Webster University, Webster Groves, MO; she was also a PhD candidate at St. Louis University, St. Louis MO.

She was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Belleville, IL; St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Elk Rapids, MI; Rob Morris Chapter #98, Order of the Eastern Star; a former member of Sweet Adelines International; Phi Delta Kappa, St. Louis University; and a Korean Conflict Air Force Veteran.

She was preceded in death by her:

Visitation: Friends may call from 8:30 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at St. George’s Episcopal Church at High and D Street in Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, Belleville, IL with the Rev. Mark Ohlemeier officiating.
