Barbara Aldrich, 79, of Alton, IL passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 4:00 am.
She was born on June 21, 1945, in Alton, IL the daughter of Clyde and Edna (Turnbull) Stewart. Barbara married Rodger Aldrich on December 18, 1964, at the First Christian Church in Wood River. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2021.
A woman of deep faith, Barbara was devoted to her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. She cherished her family and often found joy in conversations with them, no matter the distance. Barbara loved to unwind with her favorite television shows, including The Chosen, Murder She Wrote, and Perry Mason and was an avid reader of Christian books.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Aldrich of Los Angeles, CA and Karin (Allen) Davidson of Alton, IL, granddaughter, Laurin (Derek) Henderson of Alton, IL, sister, Karen (Mark) Ferguson of Wood River, IL; a brother, Tom (Connie) Stewart of Stafford, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and husband; Rodger; along with three sisters, Joyce Harris, Janet Billups, and Joan Strickland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church in Wood River, IL. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL.
