Ann Elizabeth Barker, 93, died at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born January 21, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late John Joseph and Sophia L. (Challacombe) Hallek.
Ann worked for many years as a social worker with the March of Dimes and other non-profit organizations. She married John Barker, and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2018.
Surviving are one daughter, Ellen Marie Bartel (Richard) of St. Louis, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Hallek.
Private graveside services will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Boys Town of America.
