Anita Colman

Anita Louise Colman, 86, of Godfrey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at 6:56 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Born June 12, 1938, in East Saint Louis, Anita was the daughter of Raymond and Louise (Thies) Teutrine. She married Charles "Jack" Colman on August 2, 1961, in Alton. Jack preceded her in death on April 8, 2017.

Anita began her career at Owens-Illinois Glass in Alton. After the plant's closure, she pursued further education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse, dedicating 30 years of service to Blu Fountain Manor Nursing Home before retiring in 2014. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the community.

She is survived by her children Leslie (Kim) Buel, Kathleen "Kathy" Hays, Michael Colman, and Gary (Karen) Colman; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Pat Teutrine; six grandchildren, Kevin Buel, Kyle Hays, Justin Buel, Jenifer Buel, Kasey Colman, and Brian Colman; six great-grandchildren, Willow and Wesley Buel, Alyssa and Ethan Buel, and Aiden and Autumn Colman; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Teutrine; mother, Louise Butler; stepfather, Tom Butler; brother, Robert Butler; and great-granddaughter, Trinity Buel.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
