Agnes Hill

Alton | Save

Agnes Marie Hill, age 74, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026 in Alton, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and warmth that touched all who knew her.

Agnes was a devoted mother to her three sons, Donny Hill, George Hill, and Victor (Dana) Hill, who were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Sarah Hill, Grace Hill (Seth Losing), Brenndon Hill, and Christian Hill, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Bialik and Dorothy Robinette, as well as her brothers, Douglas Walsh and Ronald Bialik. A devout Catholic, Agnes lived her life grounded in faith, kindness, and compassion. Her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to her family were evident in everything she did. She was deeply committed to her marriage for over 40 years, her family and home, giving of herself fully and selflessly with strength, grace, and quiet resilience.

Agnes had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. She especially loved nature, spending time admiring hummingbirds, tending to flowers, and nurturing her garden with great care and pride. Gardening brought her both joy and peace, and her love for growing beautiful things was a reflection of her own gentle and caring nature. She also had a passion for classic cars and car racing, enjoyed friendly poker games with her family, and had a keen eye for antiques and interior design. A talented homemaker, she found joy in cooking and baking for her family, often creating beautiful, intricately decorated cakes that became a hallmark of celebrations. She had a beautiful singing voice that was cherished by those fortunate enough to hear it, as her humble nature meant she would only share a few gentle lines before shying away.

Those who knew Agnes will never forget her radiant personality and her contagious laughter; once she began to laugh, it was impossible not to join her. She had an extraordinary gift for making others feel welcome, loved, and at ease. Her sweet and kind nature, beautiful penmanship, and genuine spirit made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Above all else, Agnes will be remembered as a deeply faithful, loving, patient, and present mother, whose greatest accomplishment was the family she cherished so dearly.

Agnes's memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her and loved her. Gent Funeral is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
