For his accomplishments, Woody Peterson is a Fischer Lumber Student of the Month for East Alton-Wood River High School.
Peterson, a senior, has been a member of the basketball team since his freshman year. He respects the discipline and hard work that goes into high school athletics. It takes a lot of dedication to balance academics and athletics, but Peterson manages this with grace.
He supports his peers as a member of the Spirit Club, and he recently became a Senior Mentor. In this role, he guides freshmen students as they transition to a high school setting. It’s important to Peterson to advocate for his classmates, which he also does as a member of the Student Council.
Though Peterson stays busy with his extracurriculars and academics, he also manages to work a part-time job. He spends most of his free time at church, with friends or playing basketball.
Peterson was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service. He is proud to have maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout his high school career.
Peterson knows exactly what his next steps are, and his teachers and loved ones can’t wait to see him succeed.
“[I’m] going to Universal Technical Institute for HVACR,” Peterson shared.
Congratulations to Woody for this recognition from Fischer Lumber and East Alton-Wood River High School!
