For his hard work, Poe Wilkens is a Student of the Month for Edwardsville High School.

Wilkens, a senior, has been involved in the school’s Drama Club since his freshman year. He has served as the assistant stage manager for two shows with the Drama Club, which is a major accomplishment.
He has been a part of the district’s orchestra program for eight years now. He loves music and collaborating with his classmates to create it. Wilkens also joined the Creative Writing Club and enjoys writing poetry in his free time.
Beyond school, Wilkens is a part of the Anderson Medical Explorers group. This work allows him to engage with healthcare professionals firsthand, which is important for his future plans. He enjoys working with the Anderson community and learning more about healthcare.
When he isn’t busy with his academics or extracurriculars, Wilkens can be found painting or reading. He is an incredibly artistic student and Edwardsville High School is lucky to have his talent.
Looking ahead, Wilkens knows exactly what he wants to do after graduation. He plans to one day become a medical examiner, and he is taking steps now to secure this dream. His teachers and loved ones can’t wait to watch him succeed.
