ALTON - The Alton River Dragons announce that two players making their summer league debuts have signed with the team. Infielder Florent Riep from Western Texas Community College and right-handed pitcher Joe Falkowski from Morton Community College

Florent Riep is in his freshman season at WTCC and starting his American collegiate journey as a native of Europe. Born in France, Riep most recently played at the Regensburg Baseball Academy in Germany. This elite training group has produced numerous college players as well as MLB talent including the Minnesota Twins’ Max Kepler.

Joe Falkowski is also in his freshman season at Morton CC and a native of Chicago. Standing at 6’1 and 195 pounds, Taft ran his fastball up to 92 mph during college-sponsored scout day recently.

The 2026 River Dragons season begins Tuesday May 26th at Quincy with the home opener slated for Tuesday June 2nd against Dubois County. The 2026 River Dragons will again be led by returning manager Jarrod Brissenden who is actively signing a roster for the upcoming season. Additional player signings will be made public throughout the winter.
