ROXANA — Grace Huch and Raegan Martin were named all-Cahokia Conference selections after helping the Roxana High School varsity cheer team secure third place at the conference competition last weekend.

The Shells finished third overall, with Huch and Martin playing key roles in the team’s performance. The two girls are Midwest Members Credit Union Female Athletes of the Month.

The competition showcased the results of extensive preparation, as the team’s routine lasted three minutes but reflected weeks of dedication and hard work.

“It was another successful weekend for our RHS Varsity Cheer Team! We placed third at our Conference competition today with an impressive score,” Emily Jablonski, the coach, said. “Those three minutes on the mat represent the countless hours of hard work, dedication, and commitment these girls put in week after week. These athletes show up every day and give everything they have. We have a goal, and we will not stop until we reach it!”
