ROXANA — Marquette Catholic edged past Granite City 56-52 on Wednesday at the Roxana Hoopsgiving tournament.

Granite City started strong, taking a 13-8 lead in the first quarter, but Marquette responded to hold a narrow 26-21 advantage at halftime.

In the third quarter, Marquette extended its lead to 45-32 heading into the final period. Granite City rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring Marquette 20-11, but fell short in the final score.

Marquette was led by Chase Jones, who scored 16 points, and Cameron Golike, who added 11 points.

Granite City’s top performers were Kamarion Wells with 20 points and Antonio Dean with 15 points.
