Durkee, a junior, enjoys playing field hockey. She joined the District #7 orchestra program eight years ago and still loves playing viola as part of the orchestra.
A natural leader, Durkee joined the high school’s student council as a freshman. It’s important to her to represent and advocate for her peers.
In second grade, Durkee discovered her love for theater. She has been participating in the district’s theater program since then, as well as local community theaters. She loves working with other thespians to bring a production to life.
Durkee works part-time, and she has accumulated over 80 hours of community service through various organizations. When she isn’t busy with her schoolwork, extracurriculars or job, she enjoys reading, listening to music and singing for fun.
Durkee is excited for life after high school. Her loved ones and teachers can’t wait to see what she does next, and they wish her continued success.
“I am planning to attend college to study journalism,” Durkee shared.
