HIGHLAND — The CM Lady Eagles pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back, defeating the Centralia Lady Orphans 59-42 at the Highland Tournament.

CM held a slim 10-9 lead after the opening quarter before tightening its defense and building a 25-14 advantage at halftime.

The Lady Eagles continued to control the tempo in the third quarter, extending the lead to 41-30 heading into the final period.

CM closed out the game with a strong fourth quarter to secure the 17-point victory.

Belle Edwards led the Lady Eagles with 14 points, while Marley Ogden added 13 in the balanced scoring effort.

Centralia was led by Kaylee Bowdler, who finished with 11 points for the Lady Orphans.
