For her hard work, Julie Pitts is a Fischer Lumber Student of the Month for East Alton-Wood River High School.

Pitts, a senior, has been a member of the school’s band since her freshman year. She loves playing music with her classmates.

She is also a multisport athlete, participating on both the track and cross country teams. Pitts loves running and holds her own on the teams. It takes a lot of responsibility to balance academics and athletics, but she does so with grace.

When she’s not busy with sports or school, she works a part-time job and enjoys spending time with her friends. She also likes trying new things, and it’s not uncommon to find Pitts pushing herself to experience something different and exciting.

She has big plans for life after graduation. Her teachers and loved ones will be cheering her on.

“I am planning on attending SIU-Carbondale and majoring in zoology,” she shared.
