JERSEYVILLE – Islee Hileman is one of her school’s top achievers in the classroom and beyond.
For her noteworthy academic and musical accomplishments, Hileman has been named a January 2026 Medford Wealth Management Student of the Month for Jersey Community High School.

As a junior at JCHS, Hileman has been involved in Band since 8th grade and Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and Math League since her freshman year. She was also involved in Olympiad from grades 8 to 10, and is currently a class council officer and a member of Student Council.
Hileman has made the ILMEA district band every year since 8th grade and jazz ILMEA every year since 9th grade. This year, she also made All-State for jazz band.
Outside of school, Hileman currently works at CNB Bank and Trust; in her spare time, she typically enjoys reading, crocheting, shopping, and going to the gym with friends. After graduation, she plans on attending college to become an actuary.
Principal Thomas Leslie said Hileman was nominated by several of her teachers this month, “because she is awesome everywhere she goes.”
“She holds the highest ACT score in the class of 2027, named to the ILMEA All-State Jazz Band, and represents herself, family, and Jersey with class,” Leslie said. “Islee has a bright future and I am thankful we get to be a part of her journey!”
Social Studies teacher Ben Gracey added that Hileman “arrives every day with a genuine enthusiasm for learning U.S. History, something that truly matters to teachers and classmates alike.”
“Islee is an elite student whose written work – on homework and quizzes alike – is among the best I have ever seen. Her work always demonstrates exceptional clarity and understanding,” Gracey said. “She is also deeply kind, leading quietly by example and setting the standard for the class in a way that earns genuine respect rather than resentment. Her thoughtful participation and character make her an outstanding representative of our school."
