A senior at JCHS, Longley is a multi-sport athlete who has been involved in bowling for four years, golf for three years, baseball for two years, and soccer for one year. During his freshman year, Longley’s bowling team went to state and became back-to-back regional champions for both his freshman and sophomore years.

Longley is also one of four student leaders in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which he’s been a part of for the past three years. He said he regularly meets with his other fellow leaders outside of school.

Aside from athletics, Longley has been a member of the National Honors Society (NHS) for the past year and a half. He’s also made the most of his musical talents through his involvement in multiple school band groups for the past four years, including Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Combo. Among his proudest musical accomplishments was securing his spot in Jazz ILMEA Band 2 on drumset.

Outside of school, Longley currently works at George's Pub & Grill in Jerseyville and does community service hours for NHS. He also keeps his musical skills sharp as the drummer in his own band, “Cash Goetten and the RoeDean Revelers.”

In his spare time, Longley can usually be found bowling with longtime and recently made friends, or contributing his talents on drums or guitar to make music with friends and family. After graduation, he plans on attending a trade school, such as Ranken Technical College, to become an automotive mechanic.

"Hayden is a very talented young man who exhibits not only good character, but leadership among his peers,” Teacher Julie Muenstermann said. “He makes his classmates and teammates better and is a superb role model."

Principal Thomas Leslie added: "Hayden is one of those kids where every time you turn around, he is doing something amazing. He is a great student, musician, and is involved in everything."

Congratulations to Hayden Longley for being honored as a January 2026 Medford Wealth Management Student of the Month for Jersey Community High School!
