For his success, Ty Books is a DD Homes Network Student of the Month for Civic Memorial High School.

Books, a senior, has played soccer since his freshman year and currently serves as the team captain. He also runs track and was a 4x400 state qualifier last year. He is set up for another successful season come this spring.

As an athlete, it was an easy decision for Books to join the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has spent the past two years as a Huddle Leader. He also serves on the Metro East FCA Student Board, representing his peers.

Books is a member of LifeSavers. His academics are equally as important as his extracurriculars, as Books was recently named the Math Student of the Month. He was also inducted into the National Honor Society and the mathematics honor society Mu Alpha Theta.

He accumulates many hours of community service as an Eagle Scout. He recorded 209 service hours for his final project, which is a huge accomplishment. In his limited free time, he enjoys reading, completing triathlons, playing video games and hanging out with his friends.

Books has big plans for life after high school. Just as they always do, his loved ones and teachers will be cheering him on.

“[I plan to] attend a four-year college studying mechanical engineering, while participating in NROTC,” Books shared. “I owe all my success to God.”

Congratulations to Ty for this recognition by Civic Memorial High School and the DD Homes Network!
