NORMAL — Columbia secured the IHSA 2A Girls State Volleyball Championship on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 15, 2025, defeating Bloomington Central Catholic in a three-set match, 19-25, 25-20, 25-17.

After dropping the first set 25-19, Columbia rallied to claim the next two sets and clinch the title. Claire Sandstorm led Columbia’s offense with 14 kills, supported by Marly Matthews with six kills, and both Ava Matthews and Maura Kohlenberger contributed five kills each.

Additional offensive efforts came from Kinley Jany with two kills and Samantha Spruill with one kill. Defensively, Ella Horner paced Columbia with 14 digs.

For Bloomington Central Catholic, Campbell Niepagen recorded 12 kills, while Rosie Krenz and Aubrey Fair added seven and six kills, respectively.

Columbia finished the season with an overall record of 39-1.
