EDWARDSVILLE - After 27 years working in nearly every division of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Capt. William “Bill” Marconi is retiring.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, that Marconi, who began his career in 1999 as a jail deputy, is retiring after “27 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Madison County.” The office said Marconi earned promotions “through the ranks” and is retiring as director of court security.

“Today, we announce the retirement of Captain William ‘Bill’ Marconi after 27 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Madison County,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office also announced several promotions connected to the change.
Capt. Jeremy Stumpf “will be the Director of Court Security,” the statement said. Lt. Dustin Brewer “will supervise the Transportation Division,” and Sgt. Collin “C.J.” Reckman “will be a Supervisor in the Process Division."
“We thank Captain Marconi for his dedicated service and wish him the best in his well-deserved retirement,” the sheriff’s office said.
