For her hard work, Ayla Thomas is a Fischer Lumber Student of the Month for East Alton-Wood River High School.

Thomas, a senior, recently joined the Student Council. She works hard to advocate for her peers and represents them with poise. She also serves as a senior mentor and Big Sister, helping equip underclassmen with the guidance they need to be successful in high school.

As a member of Spirit Club, Thomas cheers on her fellow students. She was also recently inducted into the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service.

Academics are as valuable to Thomas as her extracurriculars. She has received the Renaissance Award every semester in high school, and she has managed to maintain her spot on the high honor roll every year.

While these impressive accomplishments keep Thomas busy, she enjoys baking, listening to music and spending time with her loved ones whenever she is free. She also regularly babysits and volunteers to help her former teachers maintain their classrooms.

Looking ahead, Thomas has big plans for the future. Her teachers and loved ones will be cheering her on through all of it.

“I plan to go to Lewis and Clark Community College to complete my associate’s degree, and then apply to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program to pursue a career in Obstetric Sonography,” she shared.

Congratulations to Ayla for this recognition from Fischer Lumber and East Alton-Wood River High School!
