For her accomplishments, Ava “Vee” Flye is a Hayner Public Library District Student of the Month for Alton High School.

Flye, a junior, has been involved in the school’s theater program for the past two years. She loves participating in the theater world and putting on productions with her classmates. It takes a lot of work to ensure each production is a success, but Flye enjoys being part of the team that makes this work look effortless.

She also recently joined Calliope, an organization that focuses on the creative arts. Students publish a journal through Calliope that showcases all their work. Flye has thrived with this experience so far.

When she isn’t busy with her academics and extracurriculars, Flye enjoys drawing, reading, writing and singing. She is an incredibly artistic person and loves to create.

Flye has big plans for the future after high school. Her teachers and loved ones are sure to be cheering her on as she enters this next era.

“I plan to be a therapist,” she shared, adding, “I try my very best every day to do my work and make good grades, and I enjoy helping people.”
