“Eben Makler signed his letter of intent to play soccer for Greenville University,” Mitchell said. Mitchell said he and the other coaches could not be prouder of Makler for his career at Southwestern and now his opportunity to move on to college play at Greenville.

Mitchell also pointed to Mackler’s leadership with the Piasa Birds program.

“He was a leader for us since he started as a captain,” Coach Mitchell said.

Mitchell added that Makler’s role was able to shift on the field, depending on the Piasa Birds' needs.

“He was a forward, and he also went to center striker during games,” Mitchell said.
