“Seeing the kids smile and knowing they are set up for success is exactly why we do this,” the church said in a statement. “Because at the end of the day, mission is the mission.”

The church thanked Sacred Spaces of CARE, the Alton Police Department and others who “supported, donated, and helped us make this happen.”

Sacred Spaces of CARE said Highway of Holiness has partnered with the organization for three years in a row for the event and provides the backpacks and school supplies.

“We hope they will be a blessing to the kids of our community and that they will also enjoy the snacks and wellness bags provided by the Alton Police Department and Sacred Spaces of CARE,” Sacred Spaces of CARE said.
