For her accomplishments, Josie Landuyt is a Hayner Public Library District Student of the Month for Alton High School.
Landuyt, a senior, has played varsity softball since her freshman year. She loves every minute she spends on the field.
But her other extracurriculars are just as important to her. She plays in the concert orchestra and previously played in the symphonic orchestra through the high school. She also participates in AACE and is a member of a local youth group and the youth choir Ignite.
Landuyt values her academics, as is obvious by looking at her grades. She was recently inducted into the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, a mathematics honor society. Both of these organizations require high grades and many hours of community service, which Landuyt prioritizes.
She was named the Scholar Athlete of her softball team for the 2024–2025 season. Recognitions like this are well-deserved and showcase Landuyt’s well-rounded skillset and positive attitude.
She has big plans for the future, and her teachers and loved ones will be rooting for her through it all.
“After graduation, I plan on going to the University of Missouri and majoring in nursing,” she shared.
Congratulations to Josie for this recognition by Alton High School and the Hayner Public Library District!
