JERSEYVILLE – In the classroom and in her community, Abigail Chin is willing to help out and get involved.
For her creative contributions and helpfulness without hesitation, Chin has been named a Medford Wealth Management Student of the Month for December at Jersey Community High School (JCHS).

Now in her senior year at JCHS, Chin has been involved in Tennis for four years, Class Council for four years, Yearbook for two years, and National Honors Society (NHS) for one year. Chin is a member of the National Daughters of the American Revolution who has also been named an Illinois State Scholar and Journalism State Qualifier, having previously earned National Rural and Small Town Recognition and National School Recognition.
Outside of school, Chin currently works at Peg's Flower Cottage in Jerseyville. In her spare time, Chin said she likes to read, do crafts, and go shopping, in addition to spending lots of her own time studying religion.
Chin has already been accepted to several colleges and is currently deciding which one to commit to. Whichever college she chooses, Chin plans to major in Marketing.
One of chin’s teachers, Maddie Brown, praised the senior student for her dedication and helpfulness.
“Abby has gone above and beyond to help me with projects to bring joy to our staff at JCHS,” Brown said. “Her Photoshop and Canva skills are spectacular and she does not hesitate to help out! She is always respectful and sweet and brings JCHS to life with her creativity!”
Principal Thomas Leslie added: "Abby is one of those kids who has everything going for her, but she is as sweet and humble as can be. She has an incredible work ethic and is willing to do anything she can to make JCHS a special place. She is top notch and makes us all very proud!"
