EDWARDSVILLE – The Edwardsville Fire Department is welcoming three new firefighters who were sworn in at this week’s City Council meeting.
Quinn Phillips, Alex Thompson, and Oren Baran, the city’s three newest probationary firefighters, took their Oaths of Office on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026 in view of their families, friends, and fellow firefighters.
All three were welcomed in a social media announcement from the City of Edwardsville the following afternoon.
“Welcome to Quinn Phillips, Alex Thompson and Oren Baran!” the city announced. “Retirements, career changes and personal decisions periodically create openings at our police and fire departments, and those are always bittersweet, but it's a joy to welcome new faces in their place! We thank you for your service to Edwardsville!”
The addition of these three new firefighters marks the department’s latest personnel expansion after two other firefighters, Brandon Hoguet and Jake Hildenbrand, were officially sworn in last month.
