ALTON - In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony's Health Center is encouraging women to prioritize their breast health through regular screenings, education and preventive care. Throughout October, OSF Saint Anthony's will offer opportunities for women to learn more about breast health and the importance of early detection, including Mocktails and Mammograms on Wednesday, October 14, an event designed to connect women with preventive health resources, screenings and education in a fun and welcoming environment.
Guests can schedule their annual mammogram and spend the afternoon exploring health and wellness resources while enjoying complimentary mocktails and refreshments.

In preparation for the event, Christine Tepen, Mammography coordinator, shares practical advice to help women prepare for their mammogram and make the experience as comfortable as possible.
The Women's Imaging Center at OSF Saint Anthony's supports these efforts with diagnostic services, including screening and diagnostic 3D mammography, diagnostic breast ultrasound and breast MRI, helping women access the care and resources they need for early detection and ongoing breast health monitoring.
Featured resources scheduled for the event include:
- Genetic testing and skin cancer screenings from the OSF Moeller Cancer Center
- Mental health resources from OF Psychological Services
- Blood pressure screenings and preventive health information from OF Medical Group
- Community resources from the Madison County Health Department and the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP)
- Pulse oximetry, glucose and cholesterol screenings provided by OSF OnCall
