CHICAGO — Today is National Voter Registration Day. Over the last seven-and-a-half years, Governor JB Pritzker has championed policies that protect Illinoisans’ voting rights and expand access to the ballot box in every part of the state.

Gov. Pritzker made increased vote-by-mail options, secure drop boxes, and curbside voting permanent features of Illinois elections. He expanded early voting hours, strengthened election cybersecurity, and required election authorities to establish central polling locations. Last month, Gov. Pritzker signed the Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. Young Voter Empowerment Act, ensuring high schools provide students turning 18 with opportunities to register to vote.
While Donald Trump has interfered with our elections and repeatedly attempted to strip away voting rights, Gov. Pritzker has condemned the Supreme Court’s ruling decimating the Voting Rights Act and is sounding the alarm against MAGA’s attempts to intimidate voters and cheat to win elections.
