The Terminal Event Space is a venue that holds up to 100 people, making it perfect for birthdays, graduation parties, showers and other events, said Airport Director Danny Adams. The Terminal celebrated its opening on Aug. 27, 2026, and Adams noted that it’s already gaining a reputation as a unique spot for hosting events.
“We’re excited to be able to have the opportunity for people to come out and host their own events in the airport event space here,” Adams said. “We’ve already had a few bookings on weekends, but we’re excited to host more and more events during the week, during evenings. We can accommodate an event 24/7. As long as the schedule is available, we can host any group that wants to come out here for an event.”
Adams explained that The Terminal Event Space was previously home to restaurants. A recent tenant remodeled the space, and the airport made “some slight modifications” to repurpose it into the event space.
With a patio and “a great indoor modern space,” The Terminal can host a variety of events. The indoor space fits about 100 people, with more guests able to utilize outside seating on the patio. Adams noted that the patio provides a great view.
“The coolest thing, I think, about this event space is partially the view,” he said. “You’ve still got the great traditional view of the airfield. You can see planes landing, taking off, taxiing by, all the cool things in aviation with a patio and a view. You can’t beat it.”
Adams highlighted the airport’s work. He pointed out that many people fly out of the airport and engage with their programs. He believes The Terminal will serve these folks — and other community members — well.
“The coolest thing about St. Louis Regional Airport is the variety of aircraft and businesses that we see come through on a daily basis,” he explained. “We do everything from private aviation to corporate aviation to old military aircraft to modern military aircraft to blimp operations that we see frequently. It’s just every day something different. It’s pretty unique.”
Adams believes Bethalto is “a great community.” He hopes the town will benefit from having the new event space “in its backyard,” and he hopes Bethalto residents and other surrounding communities will use the space for all of their upcoming events.
He emphasized the variety of events that can be arranged at The Terminal. The space is versatile, and the staff is happy to work with you to make sure it’s the perfect spot for your event, whatever that is.
“We can walk you through, do a showing for you. We can host birthday parties, graduation parties, showers, wedding receptions, even, on a greater scale,” Adams added. “Really, if you have an event and you want a place to host it, we are interested in having you come out and walking through and showing you what we have.”
