The charges against Bruhn were filed Aug. 25, 2026 in Madison County court and stem from an incident the day prior on Aug. 24, 2026.

According to the state’s petition to deny Bruhn’s pretrial release, from custody, Bruhn arrived intoxicated at the victim’s residence while armed with a firearm before demanding the victim leave the home and threatening to kill them.

The victim then reportedly got into her car before the victim approached her vehicle and fired the weapon once into one of the vehicle’s tires.

“Defendant was arrested and the firearm recovered,” the petition states. “During booking, defendant threatened a jail deputy, then kicking him in the leg and punching him in the eye.”

The state’s petition was granted, with a Detention Order filed in this case noting Bruhn allegedly pointed the firearm at the victim before discharging it into one of the occupied vehicle’s tires. The Detention Order also notes the deputy Bruhn is accused of attacking required stitches to treat his resulting injuries.

Bruhn currently remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
