MARYVILLE - New Civic Memorial girls volleyball coach Jack Grimm said he was “absolutely thrilled” with the Eagles’ performance against Maryville Christian, pointing to the team’s buy-in and players filling roles throughout the program.
The CM team rolls to a 4-0 overall record after three consecutive wins in the Roxana Girls Volleyball Tournament.

The CM girls are Tom Lane State Farm Insurance Female Athletes Of The Month.
Kaitlyn Ogden and Addie Jeffery led Civic Memorial with six kills apiece in the Maryville Christian match. Ogden also had a team-high six digs and added eight service receives. Olivia Monroe had nine service receives.
Jacey Moellering added two kills for the Eagles, while Jailyn Hunt finished with five total blocks.
Grimm said the program focus has been about “fulfilling” roles and finding ways to contribute.
“Everyone is stepping in to find every single way to contribute to the success of the program,” Grimm said.
Shayna Golden, Ogden, Hunt, Jeffery, Abby Brueckner, Adi Paslay, Kayleigh Wilhite and Audrey Frankford each had two service points for Civic Memorial.
Grimm also said junior varsity players in the stands helped the Eagles by cheering and trying to match the Maryville Christian crowd.
“Everyone wants to be part of the success,” Grimm said.
Grimm said the Eagles have shown growth through four matches when compared with last year’s results, citing more confidence, hard work in practice and the ability to handle adversity.
Civic Memorial’s roster includes Golden, Hunt, Ogden, Addie Jeffery, Gabrielle Hartsock, Aubriana Robinson, Brueckner, Monroe, Moellering, Ella Jeffery, Allie Kamp, Alee Goodman, Paslay, Wilhite, Caroline Webb and Frankford.
