MARYVILLE - The Maryville Christian girls volleyball team played a highly competitive Civic Memorial squad with great intensity on Thursday night, Aug. 27, 2026, at the Maryville Christian gym, as Civic Memorial applied early pressure. CM prevailed in the match 25-16, 25-10.

Maryville Christian Head Girls Volleyball Coach Jill Harrison said her team welcomed the matchup against Civic Memorial.

“We were excited for the opportunity to play against CM as this is the first year that we have had them on our schedule,” Harrison said. “They are a good team and did a great job of putting pressure on us early on and throughout the game. We had opportunities throughout the night that we just didn't quite capitalize on and made several errors that made it difficult for us to get into a rhythm.”

Maryville Christian competed with intensity against Civic Memorial, which Harrison described as highly talented.

“CM played a good game against us, and they have some good athletes on their team,” Harrison said. “It's definitely a game that we can learn and grow as a team from. I'm proud of our girls and the way they continue to compete and look forward to building from this experience going forward.”

Ella Harrison led Maryville Christian with six kills, a 2.14 serve-receive rating and five digs. Kinsley Ballard had three kills and four digs, and Brooklynn Thien added a 2.20 serve-receive rating and eight digs.

Maryville Christian, 2-1, plays at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Litchfield and is home at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 against Althoff Catholic.
