FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 25-25, GILLESPIE 14-16: McGivney won their fourth straight match to open the season in a sweep of Gillespie at The Gillespie Pit.
Emerson Isringhausen served up 10 points and three aces for the Griffins, while Kennedy Kreke had three kills, both Jilli Goebel and Elli Moody had two blocks each, and Violet Nesbit had seven assists, with Elli Williams having five assists.
McGivney is now 4-0, while the Miners open their season 0-1.

BOYS SOCCER
JERSEY 8, EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 0: Bradley Tueth had himself a day as he hit for a double hat trick and two assists, giving him a 14-point day in Jersey's win over East Alton-Wood River at the Wood River Skate and Soccer Park.
Sullivan Hutchins made two saves in goal to record the clean sheet for the Panthers, who are now 2-0-0, while the Oilers are now 0-2-0.
In other fixtures on the Thursday slate, Belleville East won over Hazelwood Central 6-0, Edwardsville used a second half penalty kick goal to edge Father McGivney Catholic 1-0, Marion got past Granite City 1-0, Mascoutah topped Carterville 5-1, Waterloo won over Breese Mater Dei Catholic 3-1, Freeburg and Anna-Jonesboro played to a 1-1 draw, Waterloo Gibault Catholic shut out Carlyle 5-0, Maryville Christian won over Breese Central 6-2, and Belleville Althoff Catholic defeated Trenton Wesclin 10-0.

Jersey Community Middle School eighth-grade baseball traveled to Roxana and picked up a 9-4 victory. Jaxton Valstad and Alex Morgan collected two hits each, while Cayden Souder pitched five strong innings to earn the win, striking out eight. The Panthers are now 6-2 on the season.
JCMS softball traveled to East Alton and picked up a 9-4 victory over Wood River. Kaleigh Strohbeck earned the win, recording 9 strikeouts. Holly Fry had two doubles, Valery Heltsley added a double, and Willow McNelly contributed two triples.

LADY KAHOKS TENNIS RESULTS
The Lady Kahoks pick up their first win of the season, winning a Southwestern Conference matchup 9-0 over Granite City.
Melissa Garcia and Sydney Lewis won at 1 doubles 8-2. Ella Kirk and Kaylyn Frederick won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles, and Natalie Mayhew and Jerrikah Hartsell won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Melissa won No. 1 singles 6-3,6-0. Sydney won No. 2 singles 6-2,6-4. Ella won No. 3 singles 6-3,7-6 (5). Kaylyn won 6-2,6-0 at No. 4. Corrine Smalley and Cece Swisher notched their 1st career varsity points at No. 5 and 6 singles, winning 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-0.
It was Granite City's first official Southwestern Conference event since rejoining the league, the Warriors lost to Collinsville 9-0.
