ALTON - Highland won the Alton High School Andy Simpson Doubles Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Alton High School, putting all four teams in the finals and earning three first-place medals to take the championship with 31 points.

The Bulldogs finished ahead of runner-up Alton, which had 27 points, and third-place Jacksonville, which had 25. Father McGivney and Quincy Notre Dame officially tied for fourth with 17 points, with Father McGivney awarded fourth place on criteria. Civic Memorial scored 8 points, Roxana had 7 and Rochester finished with 6.

“Congratulations to Highland,” Alton High Head Girls Tennis Coach Jesse Macias said. “You are not going to beat a team that gets to the finals in all four flights, especially when they win three. They played fantastic today and they earned the title. I felt like Jacksonville and us were right there with them, but in the last round they took care of business. Coach Plocher had them ready to go today.”
