Bank officials said a man and woman, both wearing clothing that helped conceal their identification, presented a note to a bank employee demanding money. The suspects left the bank in an unknown direction without receiving anything from employees, police said.

Through the investigation, two suspects were identified, and on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, they were taken into custody without incident by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, according to police.

The case results were submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for warrant review. Police said a St. Clair County judge reviewed and signed the warrants, and a petition to hold both defendants in custody also was filed with the courts.

The Shiloh Police Department thanked the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, O’Fallon Police Department and St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for their assistance with the case.

All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
