NAPERVILLE - Kinley Dettmers and Natalie Beck scored in the first half, while Mira Ahlvers hit the back of the net in the second half to give Father McGivney Catholic a well-deserved 3-0 win over Pleasant Plains to win the IHSA Class 1A girls soccer state championship Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2026, at North Central College in Naperville, in the far western suburbs of Chicagoland.

It's the first-ever girls soccer championship for the Griffins, who join the girls track team from 2025 as an IHSA state championship team for the school, the first two in school history.
Dettmers put McGivney on the board in the 18th minute to put the Griffins ahead 1-0. Beck converted from the penalty spot in the 25th minute to double the lead to 2-0, which was the score at halftime. Ahlvers then scored in the 61st minute to give the Griffins the championship at 3-0.
The McGivney back line only allowed one shot on goal by the Cardinals, which was saved by Peyton Ellis as she recorded the clean sheet.
The Griffins, under first-year coach Jason Turkington, end the season with the state championship at 24-2-3, while Pleasant Plains ends up at 26-1-2.
McGivney finishes the season with a 24-2-3 overall mark and Pleasant Plains ends the year with 26-1-2 record.
