CHARLESTON - Triad advanced several individuals on Friday, May 22, 2026, to the IHSA 2A state girls track and field finals on Saturday, May 23, 2026, and, like nearby Edwardsville, is primed to compete for a team state championship. Morgan Allen, Jersey High's high jump star, also made the finals, clearing 1.55 meters.
Triad’s Sophia Schardan was first in the 100 meters (12.04), and Addie Field was eighth (12.33) after the Friday prelims.
Triad’s Field was fourth in the 200 meters (24.78) and Field was second in 400 meters (57.44).
Triad’s Ava Gallia was third place in the 300 hurdles with a time of 44.94.
Triad’s 4 x 100 foursome of Gallia, Field, Stein, and Schardan advanced in first with a time of 47.38.
Cahokia advanced in eighth in the relay with a time of 49.03.
Cahokia advanced in eighth in the 4 x 200 relay with a time of 1:44.52. East St. Louis advanced its 4 x 400 relay in eighth place with a time of 4:03.42.
Roxana’s Gianna Stassi will compete in the 3,200-meter race today. She competed in a soccer championship game on Friday night against Marquette Catholic at Public School Stadium in Alton.
Discus, triple jump, and long jump qualifiers were not named on the IHSA site on Saturday morning.
