EDWARDSVILLE - Edwardsville’s boys track and field team finished second with 69 points behind Chatham Glenwood’s 87 at the Bloomington Sectional on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as 10 Tigers entries qualified for the state meet.
Belleville East and Belleville West each scored 59 points. Granite City finished with 18 points, and Alton had 5.

Edwardsville advanced six individual entries and three relay teams.
The Tigers' Parker Owens won the pole vault with a jump of 4.63 meters. Gavin Stukenberg qualified in two events, taking second in the shot put at 17.25 meters and third in the discus at 49.98 meters.
Edwardsville's Aidan Bennett qualified in the discus with a throw of 49.70 meters. Dean Williams qualified in the long jump, placing fourth at 6.78 meters.
Brandon Houston qualified in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.96 and a 12th-place finish. Cooper Wittek placed second in the 1,600 meters in 4:20.18.
Edwardsville also qualified three relay teams.
The 4x800 relay team of Wittek, Taylor Davis, Colin Thomas and Ryder Schickedanz placed second in 7:49.04. The 4x200 team of Williams, Damon Davis, Ayden Green and Gavin Frey qualified with an eighth-place finish in 1:29.31. The 4x400 team of Ayden Green, Kaden Wilson, Dean Williams and Damon Davis qualified in 11th place with a time of 3:23.87.
