Anyone who has any information about this burglary, please contact the Edwardsville Police Department.EDWARDSVILLE - The Edwardsville Police Department is investigating a burglary at a sports memorabilia shop after officers responding to an early-morning alarm discovered the front door open, and the owner later confirmed merchandise was missing.

Around 2:45 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, Edwardsville Police officers received a door alarm notification for GoodSports Sports Cards & Memorabilia at 2110 Troy Road, Suite F, according to Edwardsville Police Chief Michael Fillback.

Police arrived, observed the front door open, and “checked and cleared the building with the assistance of a canine provided by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office,” Fillback said.

The owner was notified and “did confirm that merchandise was missing,” Chief Fillback said. The Edwardsville Police Department is investigating the burglary.

In a statement posted by GoodSports Sports Cards & Memorabilia, the business said, “Someone broke into our shop at 2:40 this morning. It doesn’t appear that anything of great value was taken. If the person in the photos looks familiar to anyone, please contact the Edwardsville Police Department.”

Chief Fillback said anyone who believes they have information that could assist with the investigation is encouraged to call the Edwardsville Police Department and speak with investigators at the non-emergency number, 618-656-2131.

“No further information is available,” he said.
