te all things watermelon as we say goodbye to summer!\n\nGet in on the
end-of-summer-fun and join Jerseyville's first-ever watermelon eating
contest! Or if you are still full from breakfast\, sign up for the wa
termelon seed spitting contest!\n\nAge groups for both contests:\n\nGr
oup 1: Ages 9-12\nGroup 2: Ages 13-15\nGroup 3: Ages 16 and up\n\nAge 
groups may be adjusted depending on the number of entries.\n\nWatermel
on Eating Contest\n\nContestants will be given a quarter of a watermel
on to eat. The contestant to eat down to the rind first is the winner.
\n\nSeed Spitting Contest\n\nPick a seed from the official Seed-Spitti
ng Watermelon and step up to the line to see just how far you can spit
it! (Bounces count!)\n\nThere is a $5.00 entry fee for each contest. 
Prize ribbons will be awarded to the winners in each age group. Additi
